Hon. David Lagen the Agago County MP is concerned about a hailstorm in his area that has destroyed crops, homes, and displaced persons. 'We need the Office of the PM to respond & give the community food items'. #PlenaryUg

In July 2022, hailstorm ravaged more than 10 villages in Agago district
leaving many injured, property and crops destroyed. The rain that lasted for good hours destroyed more than 20 houses.

A heavy storm that poured down destroyed at least 30 acres of crops and several cows, goats and poultry. The hailstorm destroyed the properties in lalal primary school, Adilang Town council, some parts of Orina and Odom respectively. Hon Lagen David Atuka, the Agago County MP, visited the areas and  immediately demanded for food relief items from the Office of RT Hon Robinah Nabanja. The affected villages were then given relief food and she closely put an eye on other areas of concern.

Agago legislator said: "Unfortunately ,the affected communities were already hit by Covid - 19 pandemic. This disaster means the victimized could face famine in some months to come because  crops were destroyed," he said. I and my team did a rapid assessment and concluded to quickly distribute seeds to those communities including maize, sorghum among others that can mature quickly.

HON LAGEN DAVID ATUKA WISHES ACHOLI COMMUNITY AND UGANDA AT LARGE HAPPY LABOUR DAY

On this day as we celebrate Labour Day, , my spotlight is on Agago district progress and the challenges encountered on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Hon Lagen David cited that he committed to SDGs in 2010 before attaining a political position, setting a roadmap for developing the district until 2040. The legislator tasked experts from within the district, local leaders and social development to weigh Agago's journey on lasting sustainable development. A number of reports highlights crucial components that empowered sustainable development and partnerships within the district.   My focus from a way back as been on improving livelihoods, progressing the Health system ,Education and most importantly Agricultural production. Our district is yet to achieve unlimited progress if we the leaders and the community collectively work together. Political fights and uncalled for hatred shall always decline on the rapid progress of Agago, he cited. LAWANG LUTEDERO. ...
