AGAGO COUNTY MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT SURVEYING THE HILLS, WHICH ARE THE HIDING PLACES OF THE NOTORIOUS KARAMOJONG CATTLE RAIDERS

Just after a few weeks of attack, Hon surveyed the hiding places of the stubborn  Karamojong cattle raiders earlier on within the bordering areas , he cited a number of achievements and a few barriers further to be focused on but also applauded his colleagues among which are Hon Okot John Amos, Hon Anywar Ricky and Mego Minister for the collective efforts towards the objective of contending the insecurity level that was within and outside the boarders of the district.

In 2022, the UPDF 5th Division in Agago, in collaboration with the 3rd division in Moroto launched an operation to crash down on the suspects causing the insurgency of cattle raids and insecurity in Agago, after we had persistently unified our voices as Leaders of the district Among which were Local councils, and his other two colleague's, "Members of Parliament", Hon Lagen cited.

Early in my term of office, the cattle raiders could not only take away community animals, but also loot food stuff, kill and maim..
“When they come to your place, if they do not get animals, they could ask you to take them where the cattle kraal is,  when you fail to take them, Your killed immediately.”

The community people early last year after a persistent strive of we the leaders were in happy tidings when they heard of the first ever deployment of 1000 Special Force Commando's SFC unit that was shared with Kitgum and Agago respectively to help fight the notorious cattle rustlers.  The deployment followed our request as national leaders representing Agago to reinforce the security of the district when we hosted the currently appointed CDF Gen. Muhoozi Keinerugaba, Agago county MP noted. The use of drones and local defense units were strategies implemented to ensure safety of the people and their properties. Lets press on collectively, together we shall empower and develop Agago

On this day as we celebrate Labour Day, , my spotlight is on Agago district progress and the challenges encountered on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Hon Lagen David cited that he committed to SDGs in 2010 before attaining a political position, setting a roadmap for developing the district until 2040. The legislator tasked experts from within the district, local leaders and social development to weigh Agago's journey on lasting sustainable development. A number of reports highlights crucial components that empowered sustainable development and partnerships within the district.   My focus from a way back as been on improving livelihoods, progressing the Health system ,Education and most importantly Agricultural production. Our district is yet to achieve unlimited progress if we the leaders and the community collectively work together.
