Government started allocating 1 Billion each financial year for road maintenance in Agago District

Following the request from Agago member's of Parliament,

government started  allocating the district Shs1 billion for maintenance of roads outside the Uganda National Roads Authority jurisdiction.

This was revealed by Lawang Lutedero Hon Lagen David Atuka while carrying out inspection and monitoring of UNRA and Local government roads in Agago District on Tuesday this week.

His outstanding commitment towards development depicts the Agago we want to see tomorrow.
The 11th parliament has often shouldered the burden of road maintenance and the people of Agago  will always remember this Parliament for this money.

The onus remains now to the district chairperson and the his executive's, says Hon David Lagen

The Legislator  hailed the allocation noting that their roads are continuously washed away during rainy seasons.
“Some of us come from areas with few kilometres of roads covered by UNRA; we rely on the little funds given to local government for maintaining the roads, and when rain come, the roads in some areas are impassable.
