EMPOWERING FARMERS COOPERATIVES

  Hon Lagen David, Agago county Mp visited farmers' cooperatives & witnessed their dedication to food security. With quality seeds & cooperatives, they’re cultivating hope & independence within the district. Am striving towards Strengthening Market Linkages and Post-Harvest Infrastructures aiming to link many farming households to markets, post-harvest infrastructure, quality and safety standards, value addition, and trade infrastructure. Says Agago county Legislator.  My mission as always been to empowering cooperatives, creating jobs, and uplifting farmers in Agago county.

As ugandans celebrated international women's Day on the 8th March 2025, we can't fail to acknowledge the contributions of Agago county member of parliament Hon Lagen David Atuka towards fostering an economy free from Trauma, genda based violence, Education enhancement, genda equality among others Did you know? Patongo is in the remote and neglected corner of northeast Uganda, which for more than 20 years was devastated by the brutal conflict between the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and the Ugandan People’s Defence Force. Thousands were killed, millions were displaced, and the LRA abducted more than 30,000 Women, forcing them to be soldiers, porters and sex slaves.  Traditionally a small and successful farming community of 6,000 people, Patongo swelled in size to 65,000 as war refugees flooded in. HON LAGEN DAVID ATUKA`S BID TO SUPPORT THE HOUSE OF GOD CONTINUES. HE DONATES 100 PIECES OF IRON SHEETS TO ALTAR OF GRACE EMBASSY IN PATONGO TOWN COUNCIL

 While donating 100 pieces of iron sheets to Altar of Grace church in Patongo town council,  Hon Lagen David cited, Uganda which is often referred to as the “Pearl of Africa,” is not only known for its breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife but also for its rich religious and cultural heritage. Churches in Uganda particularly Acholi play a significant role in the spiritual, social, and cultural fabric of its day today society and the nation at large. He says these worship places  have been at the heart of Uganda’s spiritual, social, and political life and therefore needs support and empowerment which he says different stakeholders must interest themselves.  In a context of the 20 year war Northern Ugandan faced, where a million people were gathered in one area without enough protection from the government, the situation where even the LRA people could come up-to the camped areas, abduct, rape, kill and destroy properties.
