THE PEOPLE OF AGAGO ACKNOWLEDGE THE IMMENSE CONSTRUCTIONS OF HON LAGEN DAVID ATUKA TOWARDS EMPOWERING WOMEN ACROSS THE DISTRICT

As ugandans celebrated international women's Day on the 8th March 2025, we can't fail to acknowledge the contributions of Agago county member of parliament Hon Lagen David Atuka towards fostering an economy free from Trauma, genda based violence, Education enhancement, genda equality among others

Did you know?

Patongo is in the remote and neglected corner of northeast Uganda, which for more than 20 years was devastated by the brutal conflict between the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and the Ugandan People’s Defence Force. Thousands were killed, millions were displaced, and the LRA abducted more than 30,000 Women, forcing them to be soldiers, porters and sex slaves.

Traditionally a small and successful farming community of 6,000 people, Patongo swelled in size to 65,000 as war refugees flooded in. With scant infrastructure to support this influx, Patongo society was tested to the breaking point

Alcoholism, sexual and domestic violence, early pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, high levels of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression were the order of the days

Today we are now celebrating Women that are free but most importantly aware of gender violence, economically promising through Agricultural practices that started from slow food projects, hand skills to mention Tailoring, computer and Hairdressing respectively.

It's all Agago county Mp Hon Lagen David Atuka's visions and inventions.

Happy international women's day

HON LAGEN DAVID ATUKA WISHES ACHOLI COMMUNITY AND UGANDA AT LARGE HAPPY LABOUR DAY

On this day as we celebrate Labour Day, , my spotlight is on Agago district progress and the challenges encountered on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Hon Lagen David cited that he committed to SDGs in 2010 before attaining a political position, setting a roadmap for developing the district until 2040. The legislator tasked experts from within the district, local leaders and social development to weigh Agago's journey on lasting sustainable development. A number of reports highlights crucial components that empowered sustainable development and partnerships within the district.   My focus from a way back as been on improving livelihoods, progressing the Health system ,Education and most importantly Agricultural production. Our district is yet to achieve unlimited progress if we the leaders and the community collectively work together. Political fights and uncalled for hatred shall always decline on the rapid progress of Agago, he cited. LAWANG LUTEDERO. ...
