HOW FAR AS AGAGO COME?

As the half mark between 2010 and 2030 approaches, the spotlight is on the districts progress and challenges on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Hon Lagen David cited that he committed to SDGs in 2010 before attaining a political position, setting a roadmap for development of Agago until 2040. The legislator tasked experts from within the district, local leaders and social development to weigh in on Agago's journey under the SDGs. Their insights along the report from organization's like Patongo Youth Center, PCCO, and Uganda's voluntary reports on SDGs. HON LAGEN DAVID URGED GOAL SETTING AND DISCIPLINE AMONGST THE YOUTHS OF LOI

A section of youths from Loi parish were excited to receive their leader Hon Lagen David and while having an engagement, they were given sports equipment's among which were playing balls, a set of uniforms among others. It is encouraging seeing youths engage in sports because it could reduce anxiety for improper activities we spot now days in the community.  Hon Lagen noted that there is overflowing talents around the district and urged that youths should give in their best to position themselves in sports market of the country. So many youths are studying and pursuing their careers and professions through sports Bursaries and we must as well be collectively very enthusiastic. it is time to rebuild ourselves, said 'Atuka. As a leader, i promise to give in my best shot and as a team, i urge you to exhibit confidence and consistency and quoted "together we can make a difference". LAWANG LUTEDERO .

AGAGO COUNTY LEGISLATOR GIFTED BY JAMAICAN RENOWN AUTHOR FOR HIS OUTSTANDING STRIVE TORWARDS THE MORAL VALUES OF HUMAN NATURE

   A group of Jamaican Authors gifted Hon Lagen David for upholding and aligning with the African morals and values as a national Leader amidst western world threats during the passing of the Anti Homosexuality Bill in 2023. Our Morals and values is the foundation of our culture says Lagen', and as a national figure, it is our mandate to create social cohesion to allow our societies function effectively generationally.  While receiving the rewards, he noted that Jamaica can learn from Uganda to deceit from western influence of Homosexual practices and foster a more peaceful world that is God fearing. we need to continue creating a consistent world with a strong moral grounding. Long term compatibility should be our focus and sharing similar values as a world is very essential in weathering life storms together. Government outlines foot and mouth disease fighting plans as MPs call for compensation

Hon Lagen David speaks out. Speaking on Tuesday, Agago County legislator, Lagen David suggested that farmers who lost animals to the disease need to be compensated by the government, which he accused of failing to protect the livestock. There are people who have loans. What hurts me most is that the Commissioner who was  issuing this (Quarantine) sat in Entebbe (MAAIF headquarters), from the time of the outbreak to the end, no team stepped their feet's in the field. When we talk about total quarantine, we mean people losing money. It is the responsibility of the Government to vaccinate these animals; if it fails, there is a need for compensation, said Lagen . A Glance into Bank of Uganda Report by COSASE

  The Central Bank took to X formerly Twitter announcing the approval of the 2022/2023 report by both the Board and Auditor General John Muwanga, and when formally tabled before Parliament, the report findings will be subject to scrutiny by Parliament’s Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE). The net value of banknotes in circulation increased by UGX477bn from UGX6.6tn in June 2022 to UGX7.1tn in June 2023 while that of coins increased by UGX9.9tn and this was on account of increased demand for cash in response to increased economic activity. The UGX50,000 notes commanded the largest share of notes in circulation as of 30th June 2023 accounting for 46% followed by UGX20,000 notes at 25% and UGX10,000 notes at 17%. Coins, UGX1000 note and UGX2000 notes as the least banknotes in circulation commanding 3% and 2% respectively. Agago county MP while meeting the pupils of Akwee primary school and patongo primary in patongo town council urged parents, guardians and teachers to always create time and seat their children down. This aims at helping the teenagers and children work through emotions and stressful moments to train them become adults that can manage themselves independently. Gathering pupils can help parents identify and recognize ones talents as well abilities. It also impacts self- direction in adapting to the changes in society. OVER 300 YOUTHS GRADUATE ANNUALLY FROM SKILLING CENTRE LOBBIED BY HON AGAGO COUNTY MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT

The Patongo Youth Center was established for child victims of war under the Patongo Community Counseling Outreach program with support from the Network for Africa. The center started with assisting former child soldiers and other youths abducted by the rebels during the 20-year guerilla war in Northern Uganda. The Centre now extends vocational skills to the most vulnerable youths, school dropout's and the Teenage mothers respectively. Lives have been transformed, smiles have been painted and Hope given to those that were hopeless in life. While speaking to the Area Member of Parliament Hon Lagen David Atuka, he said that his vision is to build a society where young people are in position to build their potential, free from violence and live a productive life. MATCH DERBY ON WOMENS DAY CELEBRATION AGAGO DISTRICT BETWEEN LAPONO AND PATONGO TOWN COUNCIL.

  Agago district celebrates Womens Day in style, The women kicked off the remarkable day with a derby match between the women of Lapono and Patongo town council in Akwee grounds where Hon Atuka and Hon Okot John Amos and other dignitaries graced the match respectively. The gist of the game was to create a platform for gender equality and empower Talents to the women fraternity of Agago through Sports. The match ended 2:1 in favor of Patongo Women Team.  While interviewing Akello, who succummed to be the most valuable player, she on behalf of the team thanked their area MP Hon Lagen David for supporting the team with a set of Jerseys and for always responding to the needs of the Club.  LAWANG LUTEDERO

MP Agago County promised to push on with Advocating for effective implementation of the Elderly National Policies

  While having a consultative engagement with a number of households, the legislator assessed the conditions the elderly persons go through within the parameters of his constituency. Emphasized leaders in their capacities to often hold consultation on social care as the older people desperately need prior attention at all time’s. Hon Atuka noted that he will advocate for an effective implementation of the elderly national policy of 2009 to suit the least elderly person just as its mandate calls for. We need to start encountering equal treatment, social inclusion and provision of livelihood support for older persons especially in rural areas of Acholi. LAWANG LUTEDERO

    How can we end extreme poverty amongst the Youth in our region ? Poverty is associated with hunger, homelessness ,health disparities and educational challenges which has long lasting impact on the youth & Children in Uganda. How can we break this intergenerational poverty circle in our country ? . Agago MP calls upon the people of Acholi to comply with the government program "Population Census". As a policy maker, the program helps them review census data to better understand the needs of the local residents and the neighbors. where leaders then use the information to plot how and where the community must evolve.
